I just recently purchased a little 12" iBOOK and i love it :)
my friend (username leekohler) introduced me to the wonderful, fun world of macs I have been working on PCs all my life and hate it. I say fun above because i used to think working on a computer was drugery and boring (still is ...i use a PC at work)....but Macs are FUN!....and darn sexy too:) now i am becoming a Garage band addict!

Welcome, hope to hear some GB beats soon. I was a switcher last year, hoping to be able to purchase another this summer. This time it will either be the 12" or 15".

Very nice purchase, thank you for sharing. Someday I hope to own one in person. It does seem to be an odd human quality to look at computers all your life and not be able to use one. Congrats. http://www3.telus.net/poojja/s/grin.gif

Wow, djbahdow01, you sure jumped in, going under the asumption that the Dual 2.5 GHz G5 PowerMac in your signature is the one machine you switched you. Impressive.

I myself got my first Mac about a year ago (1 GHz 12" iBook) and I really like. I think it is a great, get your feet wet in the world of Apple machine.

Yeah thats what I got. I figured why not go for the best, its money well spent. This way when i finish college I won't need to upgrade anytime soon (grad date Dec 2005). I should be able to do plenty of work for years to come on it. If i do upgrade it'll be for RAM, a new DVD-Burner (maybe Blu-Ray) and hard drives. But the processor should be fast enough for atleast 4-5 years i hope. Seems like it should, im hoping to get another in like 2 years or so tho. That way im still up to date.

Welcome to the light side of computing.

Hopefully you will get many great, trouble-free years out of your Mac-- like most of us here.

Haha it was all a big joke, we conned you. Windows is much better!

Congratulations, I'm sure you'll love it!

I made the switch back in 2002 when my jaw dropped for the sunflower iMac.

Haven't regretted a day of my time on the Mac platform. :D

Oh
Thanks Everyone!
yes I am happy to be part of the "lighter side" as a few of you called it.
In a few weeks when work isn't so crazy I will be on here with some Garage band Questions.....That has become my new Favorite Hobby.
By the way....Does anyone know of websites that are kind of like forums for that program?
Probably this site? :)

A new site is from Sweetwater
HERE (http://www.sweetwater.com/feature/garageband/) but there are others. Just do a Google.
By the way, I would SERIOUSLY consider looking at the M-Audio Ozone MIDI keyboard. GREAT feature set for the price. And order, RIGHT NOW, all the JamPacks. They are incredible.

Hi, 4 year or so user here,
Welcome! Good to have you,
Be prepared to hate computers a lot less!
(P.S. - Buy an Xbox If you really want games - just my top tip!)

You shouldn't need a new one for at least 5 years for that kinda outlay!
Being up to date aint that great! I have a PB G3 Pismo and a iMac G4 17" (desk lamp) and of the two I think I prefer the PB! (but iMac very useful too!)
