So in this months Macworld, the cover story is all about what we all cary around in our laptop bags. This got me thinking that I should start a thread about this very thing. So what do lug aroung with us?

Righ now I use a Brenthaven ProFile 12" that carries my 12" iBook 1.2ghz, power brick w/ long cable, macally universal retractable cable (usb, rj-11, rj-45), rgb & s-vid/composite adapters, iPod, Griffin iTrip, and iTalk, iPod dock cable, and my Apple Wireless mouse. I also carry my Apple Care info card and TechTool disk.

I have a small Targus zip-up (that looks like a smaller version of my Tucano Secondskin laptop sleeve), in which I keep my Apple wireless mouse (for some reason, I still use it as my presentation remote control, instead of my cell), my chargers, and adaptors and cables (like the mini-to-full-VGA thing). I think I usually try to have short USB and ethernet patch cables. Sometimes I take the latter out and just use it for my iPod and camera and stuff when travelling. Also it has a couple of CD-RWs in it. But I rarely carry it around with me.

Usually, when I transport my iBoook on a daily basis, I use my backpack, which has a sleeve built in. Besides pens and pencils and my research notebook and course documents, I usually have a stopwatch (for neuropsych assessment), my cell (which doubles as a voice recorder!) and wallet, my iPod in the frontmost pouch. Some stamps, other misc. junk. Nothing too too special. I keep a second charger at my lab for my iBook so that I don't need to carry one back and forth with me.

I have a one stap bookbag thingy form old navy. It always has my iBook G3 (dual USB), power supply, extra battery, a steno pad, some pens, a book or something to read, earbuds from E2, and my Dell Axim. I don't use a cell phone, so I don't have to worry about carrying one.

I also always have a few extra dollars in there too for the bus and the like. I carry this everywhere with me, even if its to just run to the store. Its like my purse you could say.

My iPod shuffle is always on me too. I seem to find myself using it more then my G2 20gig.

I think MacWorld got the idea from a recent Flickr meme. Check it out (http://flickr.com/photos/tags/whatsinyourbag/). I'll try to see post mine when I get a chance :)

iSight and cables. 20GB iPod and headphones and cables and its power brick. 1GB iPod Shuffle and headphones. Apple wireless mouse. Nikon 3200 Coolpix and USB cable. Car/Air power adapter and cables. PB15 and all it's video cables plus its power brick and cable. Wacom Graphire tablet and pen. A bunch of misc cables (e.g. 3.5mm to dual rca, modem cable, etc.). The world travel adapters. 2 mobile phones and chargers. A case with anywhere from 10-20 DVDs (movies) in it. Etymotic 4p headphones (buds). Airport express.

Then usually a book (at the moment it's Hillegass Cocoa book) and pens and markers and post-it notes.

That's it - I think! :)

Too much crap. I'm off to the airport in about 30 minutes, and as usual I'm lugging about 50 pounds of stuff in my bag, including:

1. 15" Ti PB
2. Power adapter
3. iSight and cable
4. Ethernet cables (not all hotels are wireless or have the cables)
5. Monitor adapter (for presentations)
6. Airplane/cigarette lighter power adapter
7. Phone USB charger
8. Movies
9. Noise-cancelling headphones
10. Work-related notebooks, paperwork, etc.
11. Spare battery
12. Pens, pencils, business cards, various other office supplies

Half the time, it weighs more than my suitcase.

I have the 1.5 12" Powerbook, and so to keep the portablility that it offers, i carry very little.

I have the nylon incase bag, found on the store and put in it...

power cable
portable USB hub
the two connection adapters
some CD-Rs
cable to connect my ipod.

Just about fits in, although i have to put the plug somewhere else, it doesnt fit in nicely, but could be made too, of course, if i were going away for a few weeks, i'd prob have to use a rucksack

Shame on you! You have no iPod! Or a computer, apparently. :p

Hmmm...noise cancelling headphones....hmmm....I need to think about a pair of those.

Not much, other than my iBook (I very rarely even carry the power cord/brick). About half the time I remember my Treo, and the rest is taken up with notebooks, articles, and books.

Jacket pocket. Oh, yeah, forgot about that (I left mine in Detroit! :D).

LOL, though, it's too funny that you have the sleeve with you and not the iBook. Sounds like something I would do.

In it:

12" Power Book
Power Brick
Apple Wireless Mouse
LaCie Porsche Portable 80 GB drive
FireWire Cable, USB cable
Wacom Graphire 2
20 GB iPod
Mobile Phone
Notepad and Paperwork
Blank DVD, CD media
Check Book
USB Thumb Drive
Sharpies, pens, pencils
Lens Cleaning Cloth
Various things on outer pocket: lighter, Chap Stick, keys, smokes, random cc recepits, some girl's phone number (damn, have to call her back!) bills I'm procrastinating on...

I think that's it! Surprisingly compact and sleek: about 14" tall, 16" wide, and 7" when zipped up. It weights a bit though...
