To add to the fun of Duran's revival of the threaded-- err, dreaded Community Thread Rampage (formally known as the CTR), what's your favorite academic subject? You may be more specific in your post if need be.

Also, you may pick more than one subject, if you have multiple favorites.

I personally like history and debating politics.

Fun stuff.

I enjoy Psychology since I play a lot of mind games with people. You know, making them paranoid and forcing them to do strange things.

I picked phycology, music and history.
Why?

Well, I like Math the most. I feel it's quite necessary in life and I like numbers.

I forgot to add one subject:

Debates that go nowhere :D

Yeah, they usually break down and result in mud-slinging and/or spam fests. :D

Why's every body choosing math? I'm pretty good at it, but I find it really boring.
I's rather learn somthing that keeps me on my toes. :)

I didn't think ballet was a normal school subject.

Personally, I grew up learning Math at such an unusually accelerated pace. In fact, in first grade, only the teacher was faster than me in Math.

Also, by about 10, or so, I learned all the positive integer Roman Numerals under 4 billion. I have been able to rapidly respond with a translation from roman numerals, to reg. number, or v/v, unmatched in accuracy and speed compared to anyone else I know of. That's basically where I got the speed for Math.

Of course, if you test me on the forums, there are two drawbacks:

(1) It's not IRL, and
(2) Roman Numerals at or above 4000 require a line above the symbol, and I'm not sure how to do it here.

>(hitman) Yeah, they usually break down and result in mud-slinging and/or spam fests. :D

The only debate with the taste of mud and the smell of spam... :D    :p

I have always excelled in math. I am a creative thinker, so you would think that I would be good at English, but I always barely scrape by in (honors :D) english. I always do well in math though...

i didn't see "computers, computer science, or computer engineering", so i put the closest thing to it which is math

in my days in college, way way back, there were mostly math majors entering the computer field among the college set and many, if not most, of the people in the high technology field got into it without much prior training because it was a job that paid the bills...and computers were a steadily growing field

next to computers/math/science/techie stuff in general...i like to debate politics and i lean just left of center...and i am sure backtothemac knows that;)

other -

no computers or art - and I'm so glad you're the BEST at Roman Numerals upto 4 Billion KC - such a great thing knowing you could be the official counter to the Emperor in Rome.....

that is unless someone came along who could count to 5 billion.....;)

I prefer all subjects....I judt finished Cal II, Mech Physics & Chem...

Now I'm finally moving into Urban Planning, while studying art on the side (and Architecture)

I'd like to not be focused on a single subject, but be well versed in everything. I think that will work best for me (oh- and the community I seve & design for)

Even though computers and art are offered in HighSchool, you're doing a little inside the box thinking here - these are courses you're interested in, right?

Remember next time when posting that you're basically putting it out there for the whole world to see, literally.

*Rubs hair, puts on cap...*

I was only trying to list the most basic subjects, the required subjects most people have to take, along with a few other common favorites. The other option was there to take. Plus, you could have listed something more specific for a carreer, as I stated originally.

Remind me to *SMACK* you back when you create a poll there, eye. :D  :p

im a vocal performance major being classically trained as a tenor so guess what i picked??

i didnt realize i was able to pick more otherwise i would have chosen math and other.

ive always loved math, but not the way its taught. im great at it, but never got spectacular grades in my advanced courses except on tests. calculus was the only exception, because my teacher didnt suck and calculus isnt pointless. i got a 5 on the ap exam so i was happy :)

other would signify languages. i used to be fluent in spanish, now im just pretty advanced due to lack of use. ive taken 2 levels of german and will continue thru four. i am in italian 1 and will continue thr 4. next semester i start french and will continue thru 4. probably i will continue all my languages as well as vocal performance in grad school.
