Can any one tell me the advantage of 6 layer PCB memory over 8 layer.

A secondary Q. How do I find the timings of installed memory. When I get more I want to buy same timed sticks. ;)

1) To the end user there is likely to be no difference. It will be cheaper to manufacture and may use slightly less power but that is about it.

2) System Profiler tells me that I have 2 sticks of 2-5-3-3-0 RAM in my PowerBook.

Thanks

ok in sys prof I have this under speed, PC3200U-30330, do I asume that the last bit is the timing? 3-0-3-3-0 ?

Yep the last bit is the timing. The first number is the most important one. So you have what is commonly called CL-3 RAM (mine seems to be CL2.5).
