a load of my mates at uni have just cottoned on to the possibilities of playing GTA (the very first one) and Doom (again, we're talking classic doom here) over the network and i've been doing a bit of searching and was wondering if anyone had done a port of these for the mac?

The novelty of the original Doom would wear off pretty quickly. It'll look like a pixellated mess compared to all the modern games. In fact, you might find it unbearable to play. That was my experience playing with the original Quake.

Me too. I was motivated by nostalgic feelings as well for some of those old beloved games, but thank god for technological progress. Kids today have it so easy.
