I have a friend that is a model and he asked me if Apple has a product called iHome. He seems to have gotten a job to act in a commercial for iHome where he will be playing air guitar. And Apple was the company that hired the booking agency. I asked him if there was any contract or agreement that this is to be secret and he said he did not sign anything like that. Could this media portal finally be released soon?

Just got word that the iHome is supposed to be just a reciever with aux in's, built in radio and speakers. I was told it is really loud. The specialty is that it has a dock thing for the iPod.

Sounds cool, but disappointed that it is not a media center.

If Apple calls this new device iHome, there's got to be more to it than what has been leaked IMHO.

I doubt apple would "forget" to have the actress sign a secrecy thing. And apple is always so careful to make sure that new products arent found out about before they are released.

I can't see Apple running a commercial for an iPod boom box. Elgato already markets the eyehome, so I'm not sure Apple could even call anything "iHome". The Elgato product has the functionality we normally associate with a media center, although it pulls all its content from a Mac on the network.

LOL, there was a pathetically HUGE thread about that back before MWSF '05. That picture is fake, friend.

Nothing that is legitally Apple is spelled using British spellings. They are based out of California. So, it would be the "iHome center" not the "iHome Centre".

And like Raven said, the pictures have been determined to be fake, and has been talked about to death...

With all of that off of my chest, I doubt that Apple will be releasing a dedicated Media Center. The Mini works well enough as is, and I doubt they see any need for a Media Center...

I guess I missed the thread discussing this. Very interesting...

Unless your 'model friend' is very stupid, why would she break the NDA? I'm pretty sure that if Apple has a product coming out that no one knows anything about, anyone involved with its production (designing, production, packaging, even marketing), is going to have to sign an NDA...

Why would Apple name a boombox iHome? Sounds a bit strange to me...

Because we don't even know if they have anything coming out called "iHome" or if they are making a boombox thing for the iPod. This is all speculation on our part.
