Using a Cisco Device With My Mac

I have a Cisco Pix 501, and a Cisco Catalyst 2900, i would love to be able to terminal in to them again... there is one slight issue, cisco needs a serial port on the terminal end. Im curious if anyone has found a way to terminal directly in to their Cisco gear, yes i know i can telnet, SSH, or use PDM to my devices but if for some reason i cant get to them that way nothing beats having a direct connection to the device.
