Backlit keyboards on Pbooks and screen dimmings

Any of you 15/17" P-book users notice that when the backlighting for the keyboard comes on, the screen dimms slightly? I know the reason for this is obvious, but I kind of wish apple had looked into it a little more closely.

Is it fixable? I doubt it, but just, any thoughts?

well i thought it was a good feature, because if the screen is too bright it washes out the light of the keyboard and you end up not being able to see the lights

plus if ur in a dark room and the screen is too bright its bad for your eyes

You can disable the PB's reaction to dim light in the System Prefs pane.
