My apologies if this has been posted already - I couldn't find a thread about it. While speccing a Mac for my wife, who's university faculty, I found this:

Nice...

but when you get a new mac, there is also a US$ 100 rebate if you get a new printer.

Well, if you do not need a printer the money is a much sweeter deal.

Can you use both this rebate and the printer rebate?

No, I do not think you can add both rebates.

If you already have a printer, this is a sweet deal... :p

Just wondering... where on the education pages is that coupon linked from?

I didn't see it when I was browsing earlier.

I found it with a link on my wife's university campus shop's website. I'm guessing it's not being widely advertised ... until now.

If you look at the coupon form, the "Where did you hear about this offer?" choices are all word-of-mouth related or direct-from-college related, ie. Apple probably weren't planning on making it widely known.

If you are sure that you are going to a certain school, it is my understanding that you can make an edu purchase under that institution. I bought my G5 the summer before entering college, and all worked smoothly. Call Apple up and see. Hope ya get something good. ~Josh

Thanks for the info Josh, but I got another question. Did you buy the G5 online or at an apple retail? I plan to buy my 17 inch powerbook at a retail store since I don't yet have a credit card. Can I get a student discount at an Apple retail store? If so, then how do I prove that I am a future [college] student?

If you bring them any paperwork showing you are going to attend there or are accepted, theyll take care of you. I went before I was accepted, and bought an ibook and got the discount by showing my actual acceptance letter.
