Hiya,

I have a mini and I want to connect an external drive to it to use as the boot drive.

Circuit City was having a sale, so I picked up an Seagate External drive that only has a USB interface. However, before I open it up, I would like to know if I can use it as a boot drive. A lot of what I have seen on the web only talks about Firewire drives....

Also, will I see a good performance boost from the drive? It is a 7200 RPM, 8MB cache drive...

Thanks!

The Apple firmware only allows for targeting Firewire drives. You'll have to get a firewire interface drive.
