Mac Abandonware

Hi all,
I did a search on the forum and I found macintosh garden but unfortunatley it is down due to some server problems. Does anyone else have a good abandonware sites for mac. I'm dieing to play some oldies!

How did you download it, everything I click on gets me an error message!

I kept trying, it worked once, now i'm just trying once every 2 days.

Talking about pirated software is a no no, abandonware is software disconntinued and no longer serviced by the developer so it is free to downlaod and it is legal.

So anyone got any good abandonware sites for mac OSX or classic?

There's no such thing as abandonware unless the copyright owner decides to free the project to the open domain. Sim City 2000 is not free, it's just that Wil Wright has bigger fish to fry then trying to sick EA on you.

Who told you that? 'Cause it's not true at all. Copyright doesn't expire for a long time (pretty much forever these days, which is wrong IMO but that's another argument).

There's a legal "abandonware" site for the Amiga (Back to the Roots), where everything is legit and approved by the people who own the rights. There's nothing like that for the Mac that I know of, unfortunately. Certainly not this site, if they have stuff like SimCity 2000, which is not (legally) free.
