I am looking into getting iWork, iLife '05, and/or an iSight to go my new quicksilver I will be getting soon. I bought Tiger from Apple.
Does anyone have any of these that they would be willing so sell. I can pay by PayPal. I will probably buy 1 not all 3 of them!
Thanks!

Ahhh thanks, but I can get them for $59 with Apple's EDU discount. Maybe I would be better off getting that? Anyway, thanks for the offer!

I hope people aren't offering software that they have installed and intend to still use after sending the discs on (and probably making backups)!?

I bought iLife '05 before I bought my new PowerBook. My PowerBook came with iLife '05 so I'm selling my extra copy.

You bought a piece of software before you got a computer to run it on, that comes with the computer?
Hm, what's the word... Far-fetched!

If you read what he said, he said he bought it before he got his new PB. I may be wrong, but iLife 05 (early Jan.) came out about a month or so before the new PB's came out (late January or whenever he bought his new PB), so it possible he bought it for another machine, before getting the PB. I think that it is unfair to say that something is far-fetched, when it is entirely plausible.

If he bought it for another machine that means 2 machines: 2 licenses of iLife, any way you cut it!
Anyway, he's since posted a pic of the two discs, so i do believe he has two copies. The thing is 1 copy = 1 license, if he still has it installed on 2 computers, he can't legally sell the disc on! That's why you have family packs!

I believe iLife '05 is 2 discs. One is a CD, one is a DVD. The CD probably contains iPhoto, iMovie, and iTunes, and the DVD includes everything.

I don't think it's good to try to prove someone's doing something they shoudln't be...you never know what his circumstances are. Maybe he got the copy of iLife for an old machine...but didn't realise he'd soon be getting the PB. And then he reinstalld all the old software on his old machine, sold it off (w/o iLife '05) and decided to keep the disks...thus, he'd be doing everything alright and still have the disc...

Why do you feel the need to act as a catalyst for a fight. You're being VERY accusatory and I happen to think that not only do you have NO basis for your accusation, but whether you do or not is ENTIRELY irrelevant. This is a SALE. You have no proof that the seller is acting illegaly, and even if he was, it is NOT your job to prevent software piracy. I apologize for having to butt in here, but somebody needed to stand up for the seller and say MIND YOUR OWN BEESWAX. He is trying to make an honest sale and is doing nothing wrong.

Sorry.
I was simply trying to make sure these forums are protected and not being used for illegal sales. If they are, the forum is liable too.
I didn't mean to start a fight!
P.S - If you now own Tiger, can you sell on you copy of Panther Discs?

I guess you COULD sell your Panther disks.. that isn't really clear in the license agreement.
And for the record, the forum is not liable. If a drug dealer makes a deal in my backyard when I'm not home, and I have no knowledge of this, I'm not liable for the crime.

It is legal to sell a copy of something you have uninstalled right? I had iWork 05 Academic, but uninstalled it in favor of Office 2004 Academic. Could I sell my DVD copy of iWork 05? I have the box and manuals and so forth. It seems weird that someone would buy the software to just copy it and then resell at a loss when they could just pirate it if they didn't care that much.
Well if you're (the original poster) insterested in a once used copy of iWork 05 and qualify for the Academic terms, let me know.

Actually depending on the circumstances you are very liable ... look up what aiding and abetting means. You aren't dealing the drugs but theres always a chance that you could get in serious trouble. Ignorance is not a good legal defense kid. James was verifying that nothing bad was going on ... there is nothing wrong with that.

While you're at it you might as well mention that you cannot give legal advice unless you are a licensed attorney. If you are an attorney, you should be careful about what you type in these forums. If you are not, then you may be guilty of the unauthorized practice of law. This whole thread is out of hand. It is now in a place that had nothing to do with the original post. I have a copy of iWork. I'd love to get rid of it. (Not a very good sales technique, is it?) I uninstalled it in favor of Office because iWork is worthless. By the way, I purchased it and received it prior to receiving my iBook. I thought, it couldn't be that bad. Well, it turned out to be a waste of money. I should have known better but I am a recent switcher. Unfortunately, I'll wait to switch software until Apple can figure out how to compete with Microsoft.
