Merrill Lynch analyst Steven Milunovich said in a research note on Tuesday that Sun is to cut up to 8,000 jobs or 20% of its workforce.

I guess the Sun is really going to explode after all.

Peter

finally, people can see what is going on in silicon valley

people in other areas of the country don't believe me when i say that high tech is hurting

...and will be felt everywhere around the world

there are 2600-2800 high tech companies in san jose area alone and people have no idea of the scale we are talking about, unless they live in northern california

the devastation has also hit ibm who have laid off thousands, too

there are senior techies with multiple master's degrees and top level certifications, and oodles of experience who are out of work

and every day, some out of state ignoramous with an mcse or mere bachelor's degree comes here thinking that they are going to make a difference:rolleyes:
