How much would a 12" powerbook with a 100gb 5200rpm hard drive, 8xSuperdrive, tiger, 1.5Ghz, and all the other goodies be worth?

$1500 shipped.

Why are you selling it?

you should easily get 1700 for that...if you spend 140 to upgrade the ram to 1gig, i bet you could even get >1900.

For a 12" PB? Now let's be realistic...new, the computer without the 1GB of RAM is only $1800 from Apple. And you can get that extra 512MB of ram new as well and still stay under 1900...so if the OP sells it to an idiot...that's extortion, and if not to an idiot, it isn't going to happen.

I would guess that the $1500 previously mentioned is very doable though, and possibly somewhat more. It's a nice computer. As usual, there's always the "go on eBay and look at the results of closed auctions" suggestion. ;)

It also has 768MB RAM. Thanks for the input. I doubt that I will sell it. However, if it could get enough for it than I would. It is a really nice machine. My first mac...

My first mac...

It's always tough to let go! *cries* Sometimes, I want to hold on to my iBook G4 800MHz forever. :) I'm on my first also.

I bought it intending to sell and upgrade. I wasn't even going to get Tiger or iLife 05 for it. But it looked at me with those puppy dog eyes, and I just couldn't. :(

I feel the same way. I don't know if I can let it go. I got it for a really good deal, so I might just to make a couple hundred bucks and buy a new one. We'll see....

i recently bought one on ebay, where granted prices are slightly higher...but youd be surprised. i think people get emotionally attached to an auction and have to win it. not a bad deal for the seller though.

I'd keep it, personally, unless you got a really good deal and actually stand to make money on the sale. Selling computers is almost always done at a loss. I'm selling my 15" 867 TiBook and I paid 1900 or so less than two years ago. The machine still looks nearly prestine and is still very functional, so there really is no need to sell it, save the fact that I want something more portable. I'm definitely taking a loss, since I can't get into a 12" PB for less than 1400 with the Ed discount. Besides, the fact that it's a Mac will grow on you. I think I'll miss mine when it's gone, but a nice dual Xeon is there to fill the void ;)

Sucks, but such is life
