UT2004:Can't get online

I just bought a version of Unreal Tournament 2004 (because I just got a mac that can run it) and was really looking forward to playing online. However, when I went to join game, the internet tab is greyed out. I also can't connect to the news or chat sections. I also updated it with the latest patch 3355.

I am behind a router. Do I need to open certain ports or something?

Any help would be appreciated.

If you have your Mac firewall on you may want to turn it off and see if that changes anything. I doubt it will but it's worth a shot.
