Found the following at hardmac.com
"- Increased delivery times on the Mac mini - Lionel - 22:45:54
Since yesterday, the delivery time on the European Apple Store for the Mac mini has jumped from 24 hours to 1-2 weeks. Today, the US Store joined with 6-8 days.
Up to you to decide (according to your wishes) if it is an out-of-stock or a forthcoming renewing of this machine."
I checked the Apple store and shipping dates have changed to 6-8 days. Anybody have any guesses on what possible upgrade would include?

Let's hope we see iBook updates while we're at it too - I believe they're even more overdue than the minis!

Is there really a mini shortage? At the Apple store they have plenty... hell even at my local BestBuy they have TONS...
what an irony that the main apple store (apple.com) doesnt have enough...

While I'd LOVE a Mac mini upgrade, I don't think we'll see the low end go beyond 1.42 ghz. However, if we could get 5400 rpm harddrives and 512mhb RAM standard... that would be great.

Why are people so convinced the next mini will have 512mb of memory? There are two versions of the eMac, the base version has 256mb the other comes with 512. There are also two version of the mini, I bet they will follow the same upgrade pattern - 256 in the cheaper version and 512 in the other.

I agree. Although Apple has now adopted the policy of shipping all new models with 512 MB RAM standard, they did not do this for the entire eMac line. ANother perfectly likely candidate for this exemption would be the Mini as well, at least the low end one.
My guess is that iBooks will probably receive the upgrade across the line, but I suppose we'll have to wait and see.
