View Full Version : Will someone PLEASE sell me their Powermac G5 Airport antenna?

Someone who's not using it? I bought a used PM and it didn't come with it. I need to it get online at my house, and the guy I bought the PM from apparently can't find it.

Would that happen to be the same as the original AirPort antenna in the G4's? I have one of those.

I don't think so. It's an external little piece of aluminum like the PM G5 itself...

If I can find one still hanging around at work, I'll mail it to you. I've tossed a bunch of them, but there still may be one in a drawer or storage bin. I'll see on Monday.

I'm working at Bausch and Lomb for this summer on co-op. When schools resumes I'm a junior at Rochester Institute of Technology :)

Is it that little silver t-shaped dealy that comes with new Powermacs? I have one.. But I have no idea what it's value is..

Dane Cook is my hero.

dane cook does kick some serious ass, but back to the orignal post. Do you really need that antenna? I really haven't seen that many that do have it and they still work fine gettin on the web.

Are you sure with wifi? The only way I can get on is if I leave my door to the case off.

You should have received it by now - have you? It's regular mail, in a white standard-size (#10) envelope.

What's the difference between this Airport antenna and Airport Extreme? I thought you had to do a BTO to get wireless?

the aluminum case ruins the airport extreme reception in the G5 powermacs... all the machines come with the antennas regardless if you have installed AE BTO or not. The airport antenna is plugged in on the back of the case next to all the ports.

Got this today from the Post Office. It was in a bag, that said "sorry we damaged your product". The envelope was torn to hell, and it looked like it had been stepped on a few dozen times, but it made it here, and the antenna seems to work fine.

another example of bad handling, the last two things i shipped, (that were sold on this forum) never were received, me and the receivers both were at a lost.

i think the post office is like watching my address, because the first time i shipped something in a sony box, and it was never received, and then the other two after that weren't either.

thats my little rant on that :D
