Hey Ladies and Gentlemen, I am thinking of downsizing a little, and I am wondering what you all think the value of these computers are:
Computer 1: PowerMac G5 with a Single 1.8GHz processor 768MB PC3200 Memory, Superdrive, 80GB SATA and the Standard Geforce FX5200 Card.
Computer 2: eMac G4 1Ghz processor, 512MB PC2700 Memory, CD-ROM(only) drive, 40GB Hard Drive and Airport Extreme.
(This was the Pure Educational style-system so no Modem, or CDRW/DVD.)
I am looking to downsize to a couple of Flat Panel iMacs (preferribly G5's) and I am just wondering what I could possibly fetch for these systems.
I feel the MacRumors community has the most honest members of any Apple community, so this would be the place to post the specs.
Thanks for your time!

eMac will go for around $400-500
powermac G5 will go for around 1100-1300 (and maybe higher if it's the single 1.8GHz with a max ram of 8GB and high speed PCI slots)

Well, I just (today) sold my 1ghz emac on ebay for $500. It had 640mb ram (pc133) same hdd, and a combo cd drive. Also no airport card. Hope that helps a little

Wow, you really don't like your setup eh? You offer it to anyone with something to sell..
The B&W seems like a beauty machine, but I am trying to downsize.. As in desktop space. So, I would have to say thanks, but no thanks!

When did they sell the SP with 8GB RAM and PCI-X
Anyway....think that SP will go for around 1100-1200 ;) How old are they

I belive it's the 1st generation of G5s. Remember? 1.6 SP, 1.8 SP, 2.0 DP
As usual the 1st one has room for 4 gigs of RAM, the high-end 2 have 8 slots

Correct. The low end, Power Mac Gns anyway, have always been crippled in some way compared to the rest. Look at the latest dual 2GHz. No PCI-X and 4GB limit.
The later revisions (crippled models) of the single 1.8GHz also had 3:1 (600MHz) front side buses instead of the 2:1 (900MHz).

Awe buddy.. Don't worry.. You'll get 'em next time!
As to the other conversation, MacCheetah3 is right.. It's the *crippled* version, if that is what you want to call it. It has the 600MHz FSB and the ability to have 4GB of RAM..
That being said, "crippled* is such a derogatory word. How about we call this version the *Regular* version, and the other Macs the *Beefier* version??
No? How about we call mine *PowerMac Lite* then?
Either way, it's the *Only version I could afford* version!

Hi
Well, maybe crippled is a bit harsh of a term. I didn't mean to imply it is a bad computer. It isn't, it's just not as good as the revision A.
How about Power Mac G5 Value? :D

Hi
Yeah...I know but I didn't want to make any confusion or harm your sale by making such a negative statement / term. Even the handicapped G5s are still G5s at heart and nothing to frown :( at.
