Well, I've been running on ADSL2+ for about a month now and I thought I'd just share a little bit of my experiences with this much lauded technology with everybody.
Firstly, I upgraded from a 1500/256 connection (the upper limit of ADSL in Australia thanks to Telstra) to the full 24000/1000 ADSL "Extreme" because it's actually a little bit cheaper (thank the ACCC for that one :D ).
I thought the difference would be massive since on paper it's such a massive leap but I've been a little shocked at just how few and far between the benefits have been. Web pages load just as fast as before and online gaming gives the same ping. The only major benefits aside from the reduced cost have been the fact that all computers can download at what was previously the maximum speed without any hiccups. Add to that the fact that relatively big downloads (Linux distributions anyone?) usually fly (depending on the server of course).
Anyway, I just thought I'd share this so that anyone thinking of upgrading can take this into account and see if it's really worthwhile. :)
