i've got a 200GB HD that i want to put in my quicksilver... however the ATA bus can only do HDs smaller than 135GB or something, so do i need an IDE card? or can I something else and just use 130GB of the HD or something? thanks a lot!

Been down this road. You need a new ata card. Using the 130gb of the 200 drive might mess up your data. YOu can get the cheap ones on ebay. I bought some old Acard ones for like $20 yrs ago that worked fine. I also tried the Tempo trio which worked nice but the USB,firewire and hard drive share the same bus so its slow.

As MacTruck said, you need a new ATA card. I too have been down this road (but I knew ahead of time). I ended up with a Tempo (http://eshop.macsales.com/shop/add/4797/STITAT133/), and I've been quite happy with it.

damn, thats what i thought... had this happen with a rev A B&W too, but just for kicks i'm going to try to install Fedora Core 4 on it... so far it's working, it formatted the HD and its installing so far, but im only on disc 1 of 3, so i'll let you know how it goes!
