This is for local pickup only or if you want to drive from another state you're more than welcomed to :)I just don't have the materials to pack it up and ship or do i have a ride to go and get them but i want to take a shot at selling it. If i cant sell it this time around you'll probably catch me selling it later on and being able to ship it at that time. So here goes. The specs:
Dual 2.0GHz PowerMac G5 (early 2005 model)
512MB DDR 400
2x 160GB HDs in Raid running Tiger (DVDs included as well as all original accessories, 3-Year Apple Care protection plan, and manuals)
16x Dual-layer SuperDrive
Radeon 9600
It's brand new still still. not one scratch, dent or nothing on it plus i added the extra SATA HD so i'm asking $1850.
Please let me know if you're interested...my e-mail is pffxuzer@yahoo.com or you can post here either way i'll be checking.
Thanks.
P.S. I posted on the MacNN forum under the name 'pffxmacuzer' with the same exact post in case you saw it over there and might be wondering.

I may have missed this, but if you only want local pickup, don't we need to know where you are? Is it Illinois?
Thanks.

I hope you guys don't get mad at me. I changed my mind yet again. The display isn't coming and i waould like to sell the PowerMac again. Located in Bridgeport, CT. $1850 is the price. Read the specs above in the first post. Will leave the full playable version of Doom 3 on the HD that you can also backup and save. That's all that's really on there. You might wanna add some more RAM or a better Video card or both to play it though since it was kinda choppy running on this machines default conguration. Well, i hope somebodies interested. Reason for sale: I want another PC.
Let me know. Peace.

Anyone else?
you're probably going to have to
a) be patient. sometimes it takes a while for everyone to see these and
b) maybe consider a price drop. apple sells refurbed Dual 1.8 machines for 1499. While you're is nicer, it still doesn't make up for the fact most people would rather buy from apple than someone on a message board.
Also, the brand new Dual 2.0GHz are $1799 educational pricing. Thats brand spanking new, and while not everyone is eligible, a ton of people who post here are.

Hehe. I know. Honestly I'd love this machine, but then I'd have to go through the trouble of selling my 1.6. So much hassle.

The display is coming after all. New price w/ display included: $2200 + shipping charges.

Hmmm, now that you're shipping and lowered the price, I've been considering it...but I wouldn't want the display with it (Dell Ultrasharp is cheaper). Are you only selling them together? Also, any estimate on how much shipping would be to Springfield, Missouri?

I can sell them separate. PowerMac alone will be $1500 + $53.35 ground to Springfield, Missouri.
Let me know.

I'm checking to see if I have the funds.
While I'm looking into that, are there any more details you could give? You've already given a pretty good description, but I'm not as familiar with the different Revs of G5 PMs as I would like...does your version allow for 4 or 8 gigs max Ram? Is that video card 64 or 128? Any other little details about it would be greatly appreciated, as well, as I'm comparing yours to the deal I can get through the Apple store right now (free iPod mini, refurb store, etc).
Thanks!

That is a hell of a deal. Let me take a day or two to make sure I have the cash to afford it, and I'll probably take it off your hands.
One other question: do you have any references on here or on eBay?
Thanks!

Glad you like it. The only internet references i have are on Heatware.com under the alias pfjr1 and it's only 1 feedback. I hope that doesn't throw you off. It's a very good feedback though. I sended the computer first then the guy paid me through wire transfer as soon as he got it and inspected it. Went smooth. Let me know when you decide.

Thats one HELL of a deal.Thanks. :)
I'm selling to go PC again. I love both Macs and PCs. I just like switching back and forth whenever Apple has something new or the PC comes out with something new. In this case i'm trying to get an Athlon X2.

Thought I should post here that IllSaint and I made a deal on this G5, but then, after the deal was closed and I got my funds together, he sent me an email saying that he decided to sell it to someone else. I wouldn't have even said anything except that it was such a pain to pull all the money together from my different accounts and such.
I'm not saying he's a bad trader: I'm sure it would have gone smoothly. Just a warning, because I thought it was a bit impolite if nothing else.

He Responded to me, and said His Cable Internet Service was down, so maybe that's why It took him a while to get back to you.

I am actually the party he traded the Dual G5/Apple Cinema with and received it yesterday. It was a very good deal, and the system is in excellent shape, and I am very happy with it. My apologies if someone else was in negotiations also. I of course did not know that, but he shipped immediately, up front, as I have substantial feedback, and everything is fine. He is receiving his items tomorrow. I will leave him heatware now as I consider him a good trader. I just ordered an X800XT Mac Edition off Newegg (Refurbished) for $359 which is a very good price to better the video performance. Thanks and I just wanted to give an update to this post. This is a great forum. :)

Well, hehe it's not for sale. But you are kidding right. A dual G5 with a new 20" Apple Cinema is worth a lot more then that. Anyway good luck finding one with the display for that.

I would also like to post he offered it to me when I said I could pay immediately. When he replied with a Paypal email address I sent a PM asking for references, and "How do I know I'm not getting ripped off (no offense to you)?"
I went without a response until he claimed his internet was down (convenient as I asked for references with no answer). Then he PMs saying it was already sold, and now a newbie claims he/she bought it for $1500 w/monitor?
I am the only one who thinks: A)This person isn't a fair trader or B) This was a scam.
***When I asked for references I mentioned his shaky history trying to sell this machine, just look at his other posts.
EDIT: The "buyer" says he's leaving Illsaint heatware, yet when I asked Illsaint for references I received nothing! This is VERY RUDE at best.

Okay, first off where are you getting a newbie bought it for $1500 without a monitor. I have been polite, and never indicated what I paid for or what deal I did for this system. Fact is I did a trade for a lot of items, but that is not relevant here. I may be new to this forum, but I bought a G4 last week from IGary from this forum and paid him in cash in person. I have substantial heatware under CTSxViper and am a long time member on hardforums.com. Bottom line is, he did the deal with me, and frankly get over it geez. There was no scam on his part, so move on. Deals don't always happen. I never stress out over a deal that I loose. The fact is he had (1) evaluation on heatware and I required him to ship first which he did. I received the system and LCD the next day. My items arrive to him tomorrow.. End of discussion. I have done many trades per my heatware, all positive because I am cautious, careful and smart. If a deal is fishy, I walk away from it. There are always others. I hope this clarifys things.

My post wasn't about you at all. Like I said, Rude at best, seems to be the best situation that happened.
Its not necessarily that a deal was "fishy," but what is the appropriate trading ettiquette? (SP) Telling 2 different people they can have it and then selling it to another (without notice) tells me that they aren't exactly a "stand up" member of the community. Just my opinion. [/RANT]
EDIT: I'm getting $1500 cause that was the deal he offered me, you had mentioned something about a display. Also, the newbie comes from the fact that your title IS "Macrumors newbie."
