Due to recent events, I thought I would see who was everyones favortie mcs, current or old school. And if you don't even care for hiphop then please have the respect to just not post.

Heres five of mine, no particular order:
1. Del da funky homosapien :who doesnt love this guy?
2.Ghostface Killer :easily the only memeber of the WU that matters anymore.
3.Gift of Gab (Blackalicious) :this guy can spit and intelligently, the future of hiphop.
4.Aceyalone: Last record was wake, but he can rhyme like no other.
5.Eminem (no flames please): take all silliness aside, one of the best.

Hmmmmmmm........individual MCs, most of the hip-hop I listen to are groups or bands like the Roots, S.P.O.O.K.S., Mission, etc, but I am a big Mos Def fan.http://img.ranchoweb.com/images/veronica/smiley.gif

I keep a list in my wallet of my top 10 emcees - so here's the latest revision, in order:

1. Phife Dawg, from ATCQ
2. Biggie
3. Qwel, from Typical Cats (Chicago underground)
4. Slug, from Atmosphere
5. Del tha funkee Homosapien
6. Eminem
7. Method Man (I'm trying my best to not be affected by his somewhat mediocre work in the Right Guard commercials)
8. Ladybug, from Digable Planets
9. Gift of Gab, from Blackalicious, Quannum/SoleSides
10. Chali 2na - J5's new album is bomb, and everytime I hear this kid say "Yo" at the start of any verse in that bottom-of-the-ocean register I get overcome with goose pimples.

On the back on the list I have a "didn't make the cut but ill as ever" unordered list:

Black Thought, Lauryn Hill, Kool Keith, Consequence (Q-Tip's cousin), Q-Tip, Dizzy Dustin (Ugly Duckling), Qwaazar, Aesop Rock, Moka Only, Mr. Lif, Nabo Rock from Porn Theater Ushers, Mos Def, Mike D from Beasties Boys, Chuck D, Pasdnous, Booty Brown, Grand Puba, Rakim, Pharoah Monche, Positive K - (that album with "I Got A Man" is so slept on), Slick Rick.

The list is always growing.
