Now your PSP can match your iPod, iMac, or iBook.

I'm sorry, but i just don't like the white look. It says the new firmware version is going to available wednesday in Japan, what about in the US? do we have to wait until sept. 15th to download it?

I tend to agree with some of the comments on that page. It seems it would take a lot more than a new color to make PSPs sell well. (If that is indeed the problem)

About time for that web browser !!!! so i wonder if it will be software update ready for the US PSP as well on the 27th ?

i doubt it

Yes, that article is devoid of any info on a US release of v2.0 and that web browser. Using Wipeout is fine for grins, but it'd be nice to have something more official to use.

The white PSP? Fugly. I like my black one just fine, tyvm.

i would rather have a black psp, but the white doesn't look that bad. i could see this selling just as well.

I'm actuallly liking the look of it. When I read the title of this thread I thought it was going to look terrible, but I like the way they've kept it "clean". Still, I won't make my mmind up until I've got both a white and a black PSP in front of me, and once the decision is made, out comes Mr. Visa......

Looks OK, but I prefer the black. I think that v2.0 will be a bigger deal than a new color...

Yeah, I prefer the black. But this is good news for people with iMac, iBook.

2.0 firmware - score!
white finish - ewwwwww!

someone might like it though. Looks like there'll be some good updates in the new firmware, looking forward to it

"It's white, like your iPod! Everyone loves the iPod! Buy one now! . . . . . . . . please?"

Time to go play Bomberman DS with a bunch of friends.

Yin & Yang ;)

only some smart people will know what im talking about.

Most people "know" yin & yang now. At least, they've seen the symbol and have a rough idea of the idea of opposites (though there's much more to yin and yang than that). Sorry, but more than just "some smart people" will get what you mean.

I think this just gives people a new reason to steal from people they see walking around with white earbuds.

I wouldn't mind picking up a PSP. However, I am not sure how often I would use it. I had a Gameboy SP and played it twice. I know that the PSP is a much better device than the gameboy but I'm still unsure. Maybe a few fellow posters can talk me into it :D

I am curious why you are selling it? I am kinda intersted in one, like my previous post shows.

i wouldnt care if it came in pink as long as the price came down... to get any real use out of it your gonna spend $250 for psp $49 for a game $100 for a gig mem stick ( for music :) ) and another $20 for a decent case... i wish they would drop down to $199 or even $149.. it wont happen though so i guess i can be happy with a $250 stylish white psp :(

I just thought about it a the psp is the same price as one of my car payments... it would proably sell better if it wasnt so damn expensive

I agree. I would love to buy a PSP, but I can't get past the fact that they're so expensive. The price tag is theoretically inside of what I'd like to spend on something like that, but then I remember that I would probably spend upwards of $500 just getting the thing effectively tricked out with games and accessories. So no, I won't be buying a PSP anytime soon. :(

It wasn't the price tag of the PSP that is pushing me away from using my PSP. It's the price of the games. I don't think a game for a portable system should be over $30. I just can't justify paying $50 for a game anymore, for any system. I wish they would do something like Nintendo has done, and come out with some compilation discs that have several old games on them, and sell them for $20. Sometimes I'm not in the mood for the latest and greatest, sometimes a simple 2-button game is all I want to play.

$500 is about right to get a decent PSP set up. I think I am right around there now, and all I have it the system, 2 games, a 512mb card and a USB cable (plus tax for everything). And they are not holding their value on eBay either. I tried selling my whole setup and the highest bidder was $275.

Actually I prefer the white PSP (I've seen a much better picture, the GT version). I'm kinda tired of the "electronics in black casings" trend (though the "electronics in white casings" isn't new either).

Yeah that is what I was afriad of. I love how the things looks and the screen is a jewel. However, after beating a game what else is there to do? Watch movies? Nah, i will watch them on the tube or computer(I would never buy one on a UMD). In the end I cannot see myself spending 50 all the time for new games either. I have not bought a game for my xbox in sometime. If the price drops I might pick one up but right now i can't see spending 250 on it.

its the same over here, sure the PSP isn't out in the UK yet but some online shops are stocking games. it costs £20 for Nanostray on the DS. brand new game just out today, or very very recently. or £25 max for all games online. but the PSP games are weighing in at over £35.

now i know they are imported and all that, but so are the DS games. Nanostray and Kirby aren't out in the UK yet but they're going for the same price as a regular game.

id go for the black one though. as soon as the PSP and its games drops to a reasonable level.

I like the white (even though the black looks cooler IMHO), but I'm really sick of seeing my fingerprints all over my black PSP! Hopefully the white won't show them as much.

I think the white PSP lacks the elegant look of the black one.
I am really excited about the web browser and h.264 capabilities that come with v2.0!

I actually just bought a PSP off of eBay, with two games and three movies for $247 shipped. A friend at work let me borrow his, becuase he was thinking about selling it to me with two games and one movie for $250, but as soon as I went on eBay I found one with two games (NFS Underground Rivals and Wipeout Pure) and three movies (Spiderman 2, Hellboy, and Triple X) for 225+shipping with 2 minutes left. So, I bid quickly and suprisingly won. I'm just super hoping that this doesn't turn into an impulse buy that I regret. I'm going to college in a month though, so it will give me another option during down time. Oh yeah, and I'm giving my friend Triple X and taking Hellboy and Wipeout into Gamestop or EB Games to trade in. Anyone know who gives more money for them?

Both EB Games and Gamestop are the same, you won't get much money. I sold Metal Gear Solid when it first came out for PSP and only got $20.00; I had just bought it a day before for 40.

i do use my PSP everyday while riding the train home or on long flights. It tends to get old fast though (not enough games).

v2.0 will be interesting

Well, the white would match my Ipod and IBook but I'm going to stick to my black psp since I play it whenever I have free time and watch a movie while I'm at the hair salon. :D

If Sony want more sales they should probably drop the price tag rather than releasing another colour.

I think a $200 PSP would be alot better.

The basic sentiment here seems to be that the PSP is cool, but too pricey for the average consumer. I've got a DS, which is cool in its own right. But just like the PSP it gets old once you've played/beaten the games out now.

When the PSP drops to $150 I'll get one. I can wait a year or two, and the DS will more than entertain me until then. Maybe there will be some kind of deal if you buy a PSP and a PS3. That would move PSP's because I believe that it's a controller for the PS3, and able to access movies on the PS3 via the web. If you can stream movies from your PS3 to the PSP anywhere I'm getting one, for no other reason than that.

Until then the PSP will just be an overpriced gadget with overpriced media, games, and accessories.

On topic; I like the white one better than the black one, but that's just me. Maybe they'll make a kentucky blue model... that would be cool.
