View Full Version : X2 (The Threat) won't start up

Just got a new copy of X2 (The Threat) from Amazon yesterday. Installed both CDs, but when I double click on the icon, it brings up a settings window (I left it on the default), hit Continue, the screen turns black, and... nothing.

I've tried a variety of things: repair permissions, restart, and 10 attempts, but no love.

I'm sure my Mac is fast enough: 2Ghz with 2.5 gigs of Samsung orig. RAM, and no other programs running. I'm wondering if having dual monitors (2 20" Dell LCDs, both about 6 months old) is messing with it.

Anyone else having troubles?

Don't stress too much - even if you could boot it - it will crash at random intervals... even with the new patch.

I'm just bitter as I was highly anticipating dedicating a chunk of life to this game. The bright side is Freeverse does respond to tech questions... hope they can get you past the start screen all the way to report the crash window....

Best of luck.
