Dim Screen - iMac G5??

Hi all,
I have an iMac G5 1.8 20" , I have noticed this strange thing before....
the screen on my iMac "seems" tp be dimmer on the bottom and brighter on the top, I am not imagining this...LOL... I have checked the System Prefs out, loged out, redstarted, I have even opened an Illustrator doc, created a long rectangle filled it with yellow to check it and it looks like a very smooth gradient has been applied!! I have looked at the screen from all angles and adjusted the brightnes/contrast and it is still there!
Any advice - help out there?

Sounds like you have an issue with uneven backlighting. This is a hardware fault. If it's still covered take it to an Apple Store. If it's not prepare to spend big bucks :(

I've just shut down and restarted ...and ...you got it...its fine now!!!
As i said Ive seen this before... do you think it is worthwhile to bring in, I still have about 2 weeks on my warranty?

I'd take it in. It's probably not going to go away!

I'd be purchasing Apple Care if I were you....if it's still available.
