It seems that now i have enabled journalling in OS X 10.2.2 Client, through the command % sudo diskutil enableJournal / before anyone asks, i was wondering if anyone has a copy of OS X 10.2.2 Server Disk utility. Mine picks up that i have journaling but it doesnt have the button in Disk Information to enable or disable it.

IIRC, the program Disk Utility is the same in both, but it checks to see if you're running X Server instead of X to determine whether it has a GUI option for enabling journaling.

Thanx. after applying the above commandline command. I had the diskutil stuff before even updateing to OS X 10.2.2 server.

Of course if you are going to apply this then to get back the usual client settings (eg. Sharing) just run % sudo rm /System/Library/CoreServices/ServerVersion.plist and all will be well

i'm assuming that this means it's possible to tweak a few settings and diskutility will think that you're running server. perhaps i'll have to do some digging in the plists.:D

Is journaling only available on UFS, or can I enable it on an HFS+ mount?

send me an email and i will send you a textedit document that has all of the info on how to become a server and then become a client again.

I also have one for enabling journalling.
