I am a currently using the PowerBook G4 (800 MHz/Combo Drive)....
Anyway, I was curious as to if there was any way to improve the sound out puts so that I can connect them to my new Altec Lansing ADA890 speakers. These speakers are Dolby Digital 5.1, and THX certified.

Is there any external option that will allow me to truly get the msot out of my speakers.
What do you guys reccomend??
Thanks!
Peace,
matt

You're in luck.http://img.ranchoweb.com/images/veronica/smiley.gif
Your speakers come with a coaxial input and also includes an optical adapter so the Sonica (http://midiman.com/products/consumer/sonica_page1.php) from M-Audio will work fine.

If you're gonna go 5.1 THX, I would recommend Klipsch instead of AltecLansing.

Klipsch started out as a mid/high end home audio brand and has started creating PC speakers a couple years ago. They were the first with THX compatibility, and from my personal experience with them, sound great.
If you have the cash, go for it.
BTW, that review you posted is very old. I'd recommend finding something more recent as a comparison, since the Klipschs have undergone some revisions since then.
