I like the little drive Icon - where'd you get that one? And how hard is it to make your own in X - I haven't even tried that yet.

I'm looking for an icon of a black hole acreation disk, or worm hole.
If you look at my screen shot you will see that my current hard drive icon is pretty lame. I'm looking to replace it.

or maybe DragThing..? I like that app a lot, but it keeps corrupting the preferences file all the time. Really frustrating to always have to manually replace the corrupted file with a backup. Maybe I'll just create an Applescript or something.

Good thing you explained the photo. I was going to half to ask who the ugly one was. The one on the right.
Well now that the old pun is out of the way. That's nice 3D model. Have you ever one any motion with it?

Man, there are some really sweet looking desktops on this thread. I have a few questions....please be patient with a complete Mac newbie....
I noticed some poeple's docks don't have the clear rectagular background thingy, and are just a row of icons. How can I set my dock so its like that?
I also noticed people have their own icons for things. Do you download these icons, or make them yourself? And when you get them, how do you apply them?
Like I said.....total mac newbie. Hey - at least I switched.:D

Hey Mike, don't worry I'm a bit of a newbie too. I switched in August and don't regret one second of it.
If you're looking for some icons check out
http://www.xicons.com/
http://www.iconizer.com/downloads.html
for some more icons and programs to change icons go to
http://www.iconfactory.com/
or you can just right click on an icon and go to Get Info, once there you'll see a little image of the icon. Just go to the icon that you want to use and do the same, click Get Info, then click on the small image of the icon. Once it's highlighted copy it then go to to the icon you want to change and click on it and paste. It should be as easy as that.
To change other system icons I would recommend you download Candybar from the Icon factory

It's just the Clock.app (Applications > Clock.app) set up in preferences to display "in a floatng window" and to use "digital", that way you get the date.

Ha...I pretty much only use Flash, but the thing is, the EDU discount on the Macromedia MX Suite and Adobe Web Suite were the same as buying 2 titles separately (i.e. Flash and Dreamweaver, or Photoshop and Illustrator) so I figured "what the hell" and just bought the suite.
Makes my Dock look important...or at least, expensive. ;)

You can't go wrong with sites like http://macdesktops.com or http://digitalblasphemy.com though, too. :)

The Chimp would pose questions to students at UCI. Questions like: what do you think of affirmative action and what do you think of the campus fee hikes? For every question posed in the chimp, this guy would utter "I no care" and "I still no care." He would always have a different name too. You sort of have to seen the paper to fully get the gist.
