Likewise. :)

I'll be having relatives over, and my parents have been cooking like maniacs downstairs. Luckily, we have a big enough dinner table for the various feasts, but not a big enough kitchen. http://www.thetechpub.com/phpBB2/images/smiles/icon_twisted.gif

In case you ask how I feel about turkey, see below.

Same for you and all the other Americans celebrating the holiday tomorrow. I'm lucky this year, my wife and I are going over to some friends house - we don't have to make it this year. Its also my wifes birthday :D

A day when you can eat all day then pass out from wine and triptophan. What a country :D

Happy B-Day to dukestreet's wife.

I also extend a Happy Thanksgiving to Mac Forum Members.

My wife & I are going to Cape Cod, my father-in-law prefers taking us out to a resturant.

My like is planning to buy a turkey to fix at home later, like having the leftovers. :)

So, you going the "tofurkey" route, or avoiding it altogether? ;)

There are plenty of good vegetarian dishes to be had, but I gots to have my bird. :D

I will be at my aunts house like every thanksgiving  but this
time we will have my mom's parents (my grandparents) at my dad's
thanksgiving celebration. My dad and his family are big democrats
and my mom's side are big republicans. Oh god, this could get ugly..

Then what's your mom? Anyway, you should support your own beliefs rather it be on the side of Democrats or Republicans or maybe even ¿OTHER?. It doesn't hurt to be a Democrat ;) though.

al256 do you have your gravy specially made, the gravy that I've seen is made from the turkey, using fat & some of the meat. Its great over the dressing & sweet potatoes also!

Buchannan would be a great president! He always says what he means, like John Mcain an his straight talk express. We would have our current immigration problems, his 1st order of business would have been to close the borders.

I have PLENTY of meat free gravy in cans. I think I'm pretty well covered in the mashed potatoes and gravy area. But THANKS for your concern wdlove.

We went over to some friends for dinner and spent the whole evening with then - what a feast - but their dog nabbed the leftovers! The bowl with all the extra turkey (quite a lot) was on the counter and before anyone could do anything the dog had jumped up and dumped the lot of it on the floor and ran off with a large slice !! Damn funny actually. So we got to take home half of the leftover turkey for our dog - she was quite happy to get a couple piece when we got home. :D

I hope everyone else had as much fun! :D

it was a beautimous day here in southern cali...don't know if i'll ever get used to wearing shorts and a t-shirt on thanksgiving...and hearing the music from the ice cream truck as it drives up the street in late november...

me , the mrs and the little one walked to one of our favorite local eateries... with my 2yr old daughter saying " habbee tanksgimmee" to everyone she passed. a quick meal and then off to the park to play.

a simple and special day for which i am truly thankful.

hope everyone else's day was filled with joy.

My mom is a big liberal 3rd party voter. If I had to call her something
I would call her a modern day hippie. The bumper stickers on the
back of our car say 'Vote your hopes not your fears: Vote third
party', 'I SUPPORT ORGANIC FARMING'. and 'I am in support of a
conscience evolution'. My mom is a funny girl :D.
