I am looking for a new 100Gb upgrade for my PB.
I found 3 options:
- Seagate Momentus 100GB/IDE 5400rpm 8MB Cache
- Hitachi Travelstar 5K100 100GB/IDE
- Toshiba MK1032GAX 100GB/IDE100
I am looking for the most silent and reliable one. Any recommendations?
I don't have any experience with those brands, all my desktop hardrives are maxtor ,western digital and Samsung and from those maxtors are crap and get noiser with time and Samsungs are the best.
Thanks

I'd recommend Seagate, but why not the 120 GB Momentus 5400.2 (http://www.seagate.com/cda/products/discsales/marketing/detail/0,1081,681,00.html) which should only be marginally more expencive then the 100 GB...? ;)

Does changing the hardrive void the guarantee? (I still have some of the 1year) and Apple Care?

I BELIEVE though I am not SURE that if you have an Apple certified tech put your new hd in a warrantied machine it will not void the warranty.
Just had this done on an iBook; also a superdrive was dropped in. I'll keep my receipts, for sure.
