Hi, I have a brand new Dual G4 1gig MDD.

I want to find the motherboard revision to see if I need ot send it off to apple to get a new one in order to use a decent audio card in it. WHere is this illusive motherboard rev number?. I can;t find it on the motherboard and I can;t find it on ASP!! Where is it?

Why would Apple give you a new motherboard? But as to the topic, IIRC, you can find it somewhere in the Apple Hardware Diagnostic CD that should have come with your computer.

apple have been handing out new motherboards for the MDD powermacs. (see apple discussion site and llok for a thread on digidesign 001 cards and new powermacs).

It seems the motherboard in these machines is pretty crappy, and doesn't power on with certain high end audio cards in the pci slots. Problem is, you can't get apple to replace the motherboard unless you have actually experienced the problem, which means i have to purchase the card, see if it works, before I can get a new motherboard.

Is it not printed onthe motherboard somewhere.
