View Full Version : My Friggin FedEx Rant

Morons - I ordered something from Apple and I was wondering when it was going to get here - so I decide to track the package....

http://www.gone3d.com/fedexwankers.jpg

I've had plenty of FedEx packages delivered here - what if this had been a priority package? Bleh

Two days and they can't figure out where I live? Absolute morons.....

So I call FedEx and they say it might be a new driver and he doesn't know how to get to your house - right. Lets not ask any one, that or he just didn't want to make the delivery.

Pisses me off....

D

I'm only getting the FCP Studio - if this had been a new PowerMac I would have been even more upset. I'm going for a run, so its not really a problem - its just sad that people have to make excuses for not delivering the thing - whether they're new or they just don't want to drive a little out of the way. But that's their job and I don't have any sympathy for someone who's unwilling to do their job. I'll talk to the guy who delivers it tomorrow and see what he has to say - since its going to require a signature....

Ah, running... a very nice stress reliever
Probably should do a few miles myself under the circumstances :(
However, I would die of a heart attack after a few steps

Fortunately I have an Apple Store nearby for most of my recent purchases, including my iMac and iPod.

Does Apple offer any other options?

Does Apple offer any other options?

They sent my PowerBook UPS, but I wouldn't say it was an "option" so much as just who they picked. Sorry to hear about your FedEx problem, Mr. Anderson... I had never even heard of this kind of exception before!

I called and it seems that the first moron I talked to didn't relay the directions or my telephone number to the FedEx Location.... :(

I can't wait to see what happens tomorrow....

I hope you get your software. :(

And FedEx really must stop hiring trained apes for drivers... :p

and.. WHAT?! They can't use google maps to find you address? That's just laziness. I know FedEx has got computers to google.. PowerMacs get "lost" there all the time!

Oh yeah,

No apple store within 500 miles of where I live, so all my purchases have been delievered. Usually by UPS which I can't say I've had any better luck with than FedEx. I always come home to a note on my door that says they tried to deliver at (insert time btw 3pm and 5pm) and then the fool checks the box that says "will deliver tomorrow between 3pm and 5pm). If I wasn't home at that time on a Tues, what makes them think they'll have better luck on a Wed. I always end up telling them to just hold it, then I go pick it up at the UPS facility--there's usually ppl hanging around until 10pm.

OMG, I thought you were serious for a second.

Then, I was just like "wtf?"

Dude, I'm cracking up over here, you rock!

I thought accident on your doorstep meant like.. dropped your crystal chandelier on your doorstep as you were signing for it.. which I would not be surprised about.

Ehehehehhehe.

FU's happen. What seems to be missing are the details on the calls on or about the day that it should have arrived and what Fedex is doing about it.

I will never use UPS, unless I can have it delivered to my work address.

Funnily enough DHL have done the same to me. This is in the UK though. I just happened to check the tracking for an Amazon order, and it said "Attempted delivery, card left" 5 days earlier. Er, no? No card here. The guy couldn't be bothered to find our flat, which is a 20 second walk further than the houses on our street, so just said he's left a card

If someone started up a delivery company that was actually good, they'd make a killing.

UPS in our area is good, cause the UPS guy here is a dude, but I have heard bad things in other areas. Come on, someone make a reliable world(or even nation)wide delivery company and all will be well....

I'm serious - DHL has always been spot on. I have never had a problem with them ever.

I'm good friends with my UPS and FedEx people now, but they do eff up pretty regularly.

I don't think that would fall under the "Free Shipping" policy though :D

Still no change on the order from last night - not even a "On FedEx Vehicle for Delivery"

I'm going to call again.

AAAARRRRRGGGGGGGHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!

These guys are total friggin idiots. I called again and there is still a problem. So they patched me over to the FedEx ground facility and I talked to someone there - they didn't offer any excuses, but said they couldn't still couldn't deliver it - this is after I've told two people the exact directions.

So I sent the woman a map to her fedex email address and asked if I'd get the package today and she said no    - then I said I would really have liked to get it before the weekend and she said that maybe they could deliver it on Saturday and that she'd call me back to let me know. I'm really pissed and its just so friggin amazing that they've been unable to do their job.

So I'm looking forward to getting the call later.....

Don't hold your breath...

I've got her email address and I'll be emailing her in a few hours.

Besides, I can call the location directly now as well.

If that fails and I get my package Monday, so be it.

I definitely want to know where it is, though.

Ooo... save on shipping, give the people who order PBs free tickets to Taiwan.

It'd be like that episode of King of the Hill where bobby eats a frito RIGHT OFF THE LINE and it's all amazing and stuff.

Man, picking up a warm powerbook.. :)

Sep 24, 2005, 09:52 AM
So after all the back and forth with the FedExidiots, they're supposed to deliver it today and the package tracking says its on the truck for delivery.

I still can't believe that I *needed* to send them a map to have it delivered......

I finally got the damn thing - and it took them till 4:00 PM - and they even had a GPS system.....

It seems the map they had was incorrect.

Figures - rely on the computer, since its right and don't bother to actually look around at the signs. Complete morons.

Who? What?

Never had problems with Fedex. OP left out pretty much all the details here... Is your residence/business hard to locate? Do you live on Rural Route #Impossible to Find?

From now on, we should just fly to Taiwan and pick our PowerBooks fresh off the conveyor belt. :pNope, that's how you want to handle your Vette purchase.

But Fedex/UPS would still be about 10 minutes quicker than that route, even if you do factor in the delays caused by getting your passport.

The new software the drivers are using that has maps for their GPS (yes all that technology) and the maps are wrong.

But they could have asked someone instead of saying they couldn't find the Street/House.

I feel your pain, every time I use FedEx I just end up calling them and telling them to hold the package for pickup after 2 or 3 botched delivery attempts. The other major problem is FedEx is it works as 2 seperate companys, Ground and Express, and one has no idea what the other is doing at any given time, not to mention that FedEx ground can't communicate with there drivers at all times like UPS can.

why would they do that? that would require some common sense, and a fraction of extra work, which isn't worth it to them. initiative? what's that?

and we wonder why the country's in the state it is, and why all the immigrants are taking work away from americans  (if anyone wants to discuss that, please start a new thread, and not hijack this one, thanks)

i feel your anger mate, fortunately i've been ok with deliveries here, except when i has something delivered overnight for saturday delivery, only to be told saturday that fedex don't deliver here on saturdays  if i'd have known that i could've actually driven to nyc to pick up the package myself (a 4hr round trip which i was trying to avoid, hence the overnighting). oh! and i think it was ups (or maybe airborne express, yeah, probably them) they lost my dsl modem six years ago (when they were pricey) and so my isp charged me $500 for it, nothing i could do. ups did manage to lose a 22" crt monitor of mine once, unbelievable to me how you can lose something that huge and heavy.

having said that, i ordered a canon 20d when they came out just before christmas last year, and got it shipped next day, for delivery on christmas eve. i missed the fedex guy (the only five minutes i stepped out of course) so i called them, they phoned his cellphone, and he met me a few miles down the road (i suggested that, he was so so busy that day as you can imagine) and he was totally cool with it, and i was happy i got to play wth my new toy :)

Sounds like you have had good luck with FedEx Express, I guess It's more FedEx ground I have a problem with, If your package were shipped Ground you would not have had this option and wouldnt have got your package.
