Feeler: Dual 2GHz PM and Sawtooth

I have a couple of items I am looking to sell.

First, a little background. I needed a "headless" computer to run iMovie/iDVD. I could have bought a mini but I didn't like having only 32MB of VRAM. Instead, I went to the local Apple Store and bought a Dual 2.0GHz PowerMac. Now, if a new mini comes out, I will likely buy one and sell the Power Mac (I don't need that much power). I would like to get a feel for what it's worth.

Also, I bought an old Sawtooth Power Mac on eBay for a fair price not long ago with the hopes that it could be used as my iMovie Machine after some upgrades. As it turns out, it costs more to upgrade and ends up slower than a new mini.

So here is what I have:

Hang onto that PM man, thats a really nice machine that you ought to get quite a bit of life out of. IN reagards to the Sawtooth ( I love those machines, used to have one), use it as a backup machine or try and resell it and see if you can get somehting close to what you paid for it on ebay...

I really don't want to break up the machines because the remaining parts will be that much harder to sell.

The reason I am getting rid of the Power Mac is because it has much more power than what I need. I bought it because it was the cheapest Mac available without a display. Now, if the mini is upgraded to 64MB of VRAM, I can have a machine that does what I need it to and have it cost $1,000+ less than the G5.

The main reason for this post is to see what the demand is for these machines and determine what the market value is.

For the Sawtooth, I think $300 is a good asking price. What do you all think?

As for the Power Mac, you can buy a refurbished one from Apple for $1,799 (we won't figure in tax). You can buy the X800 for around $400 on a good day. You can get the extra 1GB of memory for $75 or so. The extra hard drive would cost $90 or so. Subtract the sale of the 9600 included at around $60.

That puts it just over $2,300 to buy it new. So take 10% off that for the fact that its used (3 months) and that makes it $2,075. Does that sound reasonable? Too high? Too low? Let me know what your opinion is.

Man I love the look of those sawtooths. I think you could get a good $500 for it. Or more. Those are some nice computers. Might get one myself. Intrested.
