Just wondering if anyone here actually uses their ignore list?
I have a few users on mine who I find to be trolls, spammers or incredibly annoying.

None.
I find the idea of an 'ignore list' a bit silly, all it does is prove that they have enough power over you for you to go through the trouble of putting then on your list.

Perhaps, but it really isn't any trouble. And it's useful for samdweck/xg5 types.

It's not the amount of time or how much trouble it is though, it's the idea.
If I choose to ignore sombody, I just skip past their posts, they're not going to have enough power over me to make me go put them on a list though.
Who knows, they may have something interesting to say (doubtful) but you never know.
Nope, I don't use it.
I do use the buddy list though, but most of the users on there, like Alpha and Ensign, are now gone or do not post as regularly. :(

I have nobody on my list, but I could imagine ignoring someone
if I was really pissed of at them. But only if I was pissed off at
them for a really good reason ;) .

ROFL
But that's only fun the first 6 or 7 times. :D
Anyways most of those people are posting again anyways, except for 2 or 3 of them.
But things are hitting the Wasteland before the newbies can bite, so people like otis may not get banned.

i went back and looked at the thread that i guess otis was hated for.
he didn't seem to be that bad. just happened to disagree strongly with some folks. and was forward about it.

I haven't used it, from what I've read don't see a need for this. I can choose what I read. Find most posts very informative!

Well half baked and middle finger didn't really go all out to bait otis with a full frontal assault.
But he did get hooked real well with that lump of lard on the hook. :p
Just saying the mods have done a good job of defusing the situation by shutting the threads down before people can bait the newbies into going chaotic.

I come here to hear others opinions... even when they conflict with mine... durnadals point about spammers etc. is valid though...

Nobody on my ignore list. Some people who've p*ssed me off with stupid comments ( like the kid who said if teachers were smarter, they'd make more money  ), but no one I'd want to ignore. We're lucky not to have too many Voltair's here (see Macentral). I wonder if I'm on anyone else's ignore list.
I guess you wouldn't be able to tell me, cuz you're ignoring me.
No, that's fine... I see how it is. :(
I do have my ex-girlfriend's phone number blocked.

I know someone who actually used the ignore list, don't know if he still does it.
I don't, although there have been a few times it would have been nice, but the members in question no longer post here.

The only person that is on my ignore list has an annoying spinning avatar, I would just block his avatars but there is no way to do it selectively so I just ignore him.

yes, I think its time he gets a new avatar - I got so tired of it I made him a better one (that he uses now) - if you remember the original it was much worse.

Yes, his original was very annoying too. The current one has almost drove me to insanity and I wish he would change it.

i like everybody's input, especially on the community section
in the mac related sections, it could be boring because we all want faster and cheaper macs...duh
and the vast majority of us like macs over PCs but many of us know the PC world has the speed edge and price edge for now
...but the $999 ibook is something that is as good as any PC, feature for feature, for the basic consumer, in that introductory price range

Don't worry about it, otis was just a newbie that got his rampage snuffed out before he was banned.

I don't think he was banned, I saw someone logged in a otis this morning. His last post was in that thread though.

I can't stand that spinning avatar. It gets irritating after a while.
I would however like to take this oppurtunity to say how much I like Macbandit's avatar :D

Third. :p
Screw the avatar Contest. We have a winner! :D
I don't use the ignore list, nor have I ever. If I want to ignore someone, I'll do what Ms. V does: Scroll right by. The only difference is I may make a rated PG13 or rated -R- reference under my breath as I scroll right by someone. -

Are you really? Figures, all the good ones are either married or gay.
You know, I always thought of myself as a lesbian trapped in a mans body. ;) All of my female friends say "he's not a man, he's Erik". Which I take as a compliment, because they're usually talking about how much men suck (not in the good way).
Yer gonna slap me now, aren't you.

But he dresses like a lesbian trapped in a man's body, chances are you don't.
Or is that why the gals don't feel threatened around you? ;)
