I was wondering how many minutes of digital video would fit in a gig of space. Thanks!!!!!

i belive DV is about 4:20 secs per gig, but i could be wrong.

Res: 720 x 480 ppi
dF/dt: 29.97 f/s
dMB/dt: 3.4MB/s
Therefore, in one minute, 204MB of data is tranferred. In about 4 minutes and 54 seconds, 1000MB of data has been transferred.
I endoded a 10 second .mov file with Quicktime Pro to .dv to discover this.

isn't there some way with FCP that makes it possle to fit 45min in 1gig

why don't one of you figure out how much video can fit in a gig if it's divx

yes, you can compress the video, but you will degrading the video by a fair amount.
