This Titanium PowerBook has no hard-drive or Airport card (see my other thread). The LCD should work, if you just need a screen. I am pretty sure it is logic board failure. Optical drive should also work. Computer does power on. The case itself is pretty beat up, many scratches and a dent. Screen has keymarks. Includes two working batteries and the AC adapter. Currently $31.

BONUS: Yes, there is a Tiger Install DVD stuck inside the optical drive (after trying to boot up with it, I couldn't get it back out).

Sold by an eBay shop, however, I do have references:

How much were you looking to get for this?

Not much, but we didn't know what else to do with it... so we gave it to an eBay shop. ~$75 would be nice!

I'll give you $80 shipped for it (sorry for the low offer, but it doesn't work and I don't have much in my PP acct).

I should have posted here first, but I wasn't thinking, and now I can't cancel the auction, so the only way is to bid. So far there seems to be pretty low interest so your chances are good. :) Thanks!

Can't you ask the auction place to cancel it for you? (Because you CAN cancel eBay auctions normally as I'm sure you know)...

True... but I would still probably have to pay the listing fees... plus it's a lot easier since they ship it for me and stuff. :) Do you have an eBay account you could bid with?

How much is the fee, I might be able to pay you the fee if you cancel it.

Why didn't you just use an open paper clip and press on the mechanical eject button inside the cd/dvd rom opening?

Did the screen work without any problems?

PS I don't understand why the ISOLDIT shops can do a better job of selling a Tibook than you can? The people who run those places don't know anything.

I agree, we have one of those kind of places in our town, they take a 30% commission on every $100. Now that's stupid because you can do it yourself and spend like $8.

Anyways, I'll be on throughout the night, if you decide to do $80 shipped, PM me or reply to this thread :).

Where in the drive is the button? I've never forced an ejection from a slot-drive.

Haha, yeah, the trouble with eBay is time and hassle. They take great photos though, and I basically told them everything to say. Plus, this way my dad gets the money/pays the fees. That's valuable MR time! :p

Little pin hole in the protective covering material over the optical drive.

How is the screen - pixels good? And what happened to the original hard drive? Even if it is dead, I'd want it.

So it's there on, say, the new optical slot-loads as well? Inside the foamie stuff?

My dad wanted to keep it because it has some sensitive business files -- but I'll see what he thinks. It was a good drive.

The screen has no dead pixels that I'm aware of, although it's so scuffed up you'd be hard pressed to tell.

Sorry mate... the price is quite low, I would try your luck!

Yes there should be a little pin hole in the "foamie stuff" to one side. There is a little button on these drives when they come originally from Panasonic with the black face plate. When they go into the pbs, you have to remove the face plate, but the eject button is still there. Just under the foamie stuff, I think to the left.

Check your pms. How scuffed up is the LCD? Like real scratches or keyboard marks and fingerprints?

I'll get back to you on that tomorrow, it's 1 am here.

A lot of keyboard marks, this was before they started using plastic cushions. I'm sure there are real scratches too, but nothing too obvious. The other "scuffing" is probably the result of oil/grime rubbing into the LCD, mixing with the keyboard marks and scratches (lovely isn't it). Cleaning vigorously may help but some of it is beyond repair. Still gets good brightness though, I used to use it all the time. When the screen is on, the marks are much less obvious.

Goodnight for now. :)

Four days left and it's already above what you were hoping for... this auction is going to close higher than you'd wanted. I'd say $150.. good luck!

Wish I could have gotten it at $80.

:)
