will putting my processor performance on 'high' wear it out?

Well, technically, they do, and the heat could theoretically damage things, but... the only real "damage" is higher electrical bills and the fan coming on more often.

Yeah, the conventional wisdom with the iMac G5s is to put it on High.

That's why I'm glad mine is always set at "energy saver"

You know how sometimes you switch to reduced when you know it's not needed (computational power) and then you forget to put it back in high?

Then when you try to do something processor intensive it seems kind of slow(the computer)? I think most of us do that to often with our brain.

Maybe that's what a brain fart really is?

When I run my PowerBook 1.33 on highest processor speed the whole machine gets quite hot, i'm more worried about the other devices in the machine being killed.
