What does a forum in the wasteland mean?It means that thread has EOL'd. It's trash. No more posting.

It means that the thread (it's not a forum) was considered to be rubbish and is no longer active.

If you browse around the Wasteland you might find that not all of it is entirely rubbish...:D

Who gets to decide what gets wastelanded? I can see if something is pornographic, or a flame post.. but what about the rest. I took your advice and started going through the threads. While some of them I can understand, there are some that I can't. There was one thread about who was the skinniest guy on the forums. had 4 pages of posts before it got wastelanded. While I was not interested in the post it appears that at least some were. Not complaining, just curious..

edit: Wow, as I go back through THIS thread I see that this thread is kinda talking about the skinny guy thread.. So, once again.. who decides?

The Mods decide, and it is for a variety of reasons, all usually very good.

The Mods do a great job in my opinion.

The Mods do a great job in my opinion.I agree. If you're looking for some more specific reasons... sometimes a thread gets way too off topic. Sometimes a member (or many many members) will complain about the content. And sometimes, the mods decide for themselves if the content is appropriate or not. And well, sometimes the thread has run it's natural course... Oh Oh, and sometimes things get too 'heated.'

While some of them I can understand, there are some that I can't.

Some of them are also reposts i.e. there are existing threads on the subject already...

Or, they may be duplicate threads where forum members (often newcomers) start an identical thread in different forums in the hope of getting a quicker answer from someone.

uh, it was a joke, i wasn't exactly attached to that thread, i just thought it was pathetic that it denigrated into that so quickly (and after all the discussion about how worthless the post was, I'd think the Wasteland factor would be self-evident). christ, even when you use emoticons...

Whoa, that is going waaay too far. I thought you promised that if I shared my private stash you wouldn't post it anywhere. :(

EDIT: Pictures of me were especially off-limits! (Though I do like that everyone can check out my new third roll... its not even tan yet!)
