My school has a laptop program. My year recieved the ibook g3 900 mhz which was top of the line three years ago. They promised that each year would get the same laptop for three years.

Since the ibook updates every year, the freshman have superior ibooks to my ibook and I'm getting jealous. They can play Halo with the best resolution while my ibook can't even handle normal flash games.

Over the years, I realized that my classmates have been recieving ibook g4. They said they got 3 logicboard problems and they recieved a free laptop from apple.

Right now I have 2 logic board failures and 1 harddrive failure. Is there any way to induce 1 more failure of any kind without breaching the apple warranty? I.E Don't ask me to drop my computer. I already tried that and my school got really mad.

I would consider myself lucky for being in a school like that.

We had to pay money for the laptops. It is not like they gave us the laptops for free.

Btw I'm typing on my ibook g3. It had just been repaired by Apple but I still experience slowdowns.

Okay, quietly think about what you're asking, and why.

Any advice?

Don't commit fraud. It's illegal. VERY illegal.

sell the old iBook, get a job, and buy a new one if you really want one.

fraud = bad.

advice (although it's been said by others): dont commit fraud. people dont like that. well some people do. but those people arent the cops. or the feds. and theyre the ones who matter.

Oh, why are you guys are so bitter? Just help me get a new laptop, please?.........

Just kidding, I was a little out of my mind when I made those posts. It just seems like I'm consumed in stress during Junior year. I'm still bitter that I won't get a new laptop but I just have to make do with what I have.

I actually have enough money to buy an ibook or powerbook. I don't want to buy one, though, because my school will not support the laptop. This means that I can't access school servers, get necessary software (microsoft office), and have a very comprehensive warranty only applied to my school.
