Just struggling to justify the Quad, and since last week can't decide, tho benchmarks would help when they arrive.
My trusty G4500DP has served me well, certainly prudent to wait for Macintel ...but my patience with the old G4 is all used up.
Going dual core, as 2nd market in Oz seems little too strong some units w/o warranty or OX10.4 etc...Apple's free shipping is also of consequence.
Don't want to have to spend to upgrade all the apps so PPC suits aswell, I find myself gravitiating towards a Quad even tho' excess to my needs since loaded 2 or 2.5Ghz attract bids in the vicinity of a new.
I'd forego all expanion and LCD except 2Gb RAM for a while...grab 500gb HD from elsewhere.
I use: FCP 4.1, DVDSP3, CS1, Nikon Capture.
