If it didn't stay open the first (http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?p=1852282#post1852282) time, what makes you think this one will?

Usually when you've had a thread wastelanded, it's a bad idea to make an identical one shortly after...

When I have 1 system of 2 or 3 running permanently in full working condition, normally I get some forced restart every 3-5 months.

So the last time I needed to reboot was today. 102 days uptime ... sigh.

the reason i posted this again, was b/c people were posting current uptimes and stuff, instead of record, or longest. i just find this interesting, mainly b/c i like to see macs uptimes compared to windows. to me, it kinda shows which is more reliable. and i really don't see anything wrong with thread. honestly, what's wrong with it?

It's fine with me, but I don't make the rules here. There other one was on the same topic and was locked/wastelanded. So odds are this one will have the same outcome.

My Mac Mini has been up for about 7 months now. I use it as a file server only, so I didn't bother upgrading the OS. I might get around to rebooting it around the new year, unless it starts to bog down.

How about a thread where people only post if they have a record that beats the previous high?

that sounds good, but as soon as someone with 7 months is on here, no one's going to beat it.

let's say a minimum of 5 days or something

what's wrong with threads about uptime? i've seen it in other mac forums. what's so bad about it?
