Since I replaced my hard drive in my iBook, I have a good 2.5" 6 gig Fugitsu laying around doing absolulely nothing.

I would luv to put it in an enclosure as extra storage but I don't have anything with firewire yet so it would have to be a combo one until I get a firewire card for my PC and/or get a newer laptop.

Anybody know a good one? (preferably ~$100)

i have an older model with a firewire and pc card adapter. works great and the newer models look really nice. you can purchase mce products from many vendors online.

Old World Computing has some good ones - http://eshop.macsales.com

Try also http://www.pricewatch.com/ for some price comparisons. Type in - USB FireWire 2.5 - and it'll bring up a couple for around $50. Yahoo Shopping will bring up the same type of thing.

Normally I'd recommend Newegg or eCost, but they seem to be out.

I found this one at OWC and the same one at Newegg. That and the one Lemon suggested were the only ones that I found with both FW/USB I looked all over Pricewatch for some, are there any others I missed?

I found this one on PriceWatch:

http://www.computer-show.com/Modern/itemdesc.asp?CartId=dummy&ic=CAS009&tpc=

Although, for $40 I'm not sure how good it is. Plus the link has the word dummy in it.

Yer probably better off with Newegg or OWC.
