WTB: Dell 2005FPW LCD

Hey all. I am looking to buy a 2005FPW Dell LCD. I had one of these before and sold it to get an iMac.... however, I am rather disappointed with the screen quality of the 17" (mine had a defect) so I am thinking about getting a PowerMac and 2005FPW to just last me for a few years instead. I dont know what your budget is but I just got my new 2005FPW for my PB a week or so ago for $394 shipped. dealcatcher.com always has a bunch of sales and coupons on Dell products so maybe just check those out.

I remember that deal and I passed it up at the time :mad: Now Dell has no deals at all really... well 20% off but that makes it still like $570 plus tax and shipping... booo!

They were just on sale from 10/26 to 10/29 for $426.85. They will be on sale for a similar price in the next month or two (probably closer to a month than two). Every once and a while they go on sale for less than 400. My guess is January or February.

i'm actually also in the market for one of these. my advice: don't even consider buying a used one...just wait for another deal from dell. dell's last quarter wasn't nearly as good as they thought it would be--they're going to have to offer some decent coupons for the holiday quarter.

in terms of websites, i'd check both www.gotapex.com (seems to specialize in dell deals) and www.slickdeals.net (my deals site of choice) consistently around the following dates:
the day after thanksgiving
the week before christmas
right after christmas (just before dell's end of quarter)

i'm going to get one if i can spend less than $385.
