I have an IBM thinkpad r40 that I purchased new two years ago and I had no idea that I needed to renew the warranty within the warranty period or you can't purchase another one ever from IBM. (This probably has to do with the whole Lenovo exchange stuff). Anyway, it has about 2 years worth of wear and tear and I'd basically be selling it for parts.
If you know how to fix computers then this computer will work just fine for you. There's been some stuff going on with the screen and it might be the video card and I'd rather just retire it. I don't have money to get a new laptop right now so I figure I'd just sell it for what I can get.
Everything functions fine except for the screen that has lines on it and I don't know wussup with that nor do I have the funds to find out. I have all of the backup cds and stuff and it comes with:
-the basic ultrabay ibm cd-rw/dvd-rom drive
-P4 processor
-like 1.2-1.4ghz processor speed (I can't check right now b/c the way the screen is acting)
-384mb of RAM
-Windows XP Home SP2
-original install and backup cds that came with the computer
-battery
-power adapter/charger
I really don't know what else to do with this laptop and it has some good parts in it if you didn't want to fix it up. You will need to add your own hard drive, but that's relatively inexpensive as well.
I paid about $1000 for this laptop, but since I don't know what the deal is and cant really afford to get it looked at I'm willing to sell for $300 shipped.
