Notebook computers becoming a fashion item?

I saw an interesting article here (http://www.theage.com.au/news/breaking/intel-adds-colour-to-the-laptop/2005/11/30/1133311082851.html). I also see this trend in the industry as we start seeing attractive-looking notebooks from a few manufacturers (Apple has been on this trend before others are catching up).

About the only form of technology that's not a fashion item is the humble DSL modem.
