RAM Prices

When looking at a magazine I saw a 512 MB stick of pc100 from $120 to $60, is there such thing as low quality ram? the $60 brand came with a lifetime warranty....I'm just looking for some opinions before I throw my money away...or make a good investment.

It is low, but, only like $15 less than all of the places they list.
But 120 is a little much.
