I was wondering if the Xbox 360 will play DVD's without fault.... I know they will play DVD's but I remember when I had my PS2 I used it as a DVD player and after a month or two my drive was ruined... the people at Gamestop later told me that you shouldn't really use your PS2 as a DVD player, just a game console because there is a chance it will ruin the drive... now were they just blowing smoke up my butt or what...

You'll be fine with the Xbox 360. The problem that has plagued all PS2 models old & slim is the cheap laser that sony incorporate into the system. It's a real dog and I just wonder if the quality of the PS3 will be just as bad.

Xbox's have used standard pc hardware and their drives are far more reliable. I have two 360's both play DVD's without a problem. Just a shame they're still region protected
