Hey Mac-Addicts,

Is there a way to un-lock a xbox Hdd on the Mac..

I got a fw ext case,if that'll help me on unlocking it..

Tried the Disk Utility and XP format way it wont show up.. :confused: :confused:

Will Disk Warrior or SuperDuper work on the xbox drive?

Why do you want to unlock the XBox HDD? Do you mean lock an upgraded one?

I wanna use the old xbox drive as Mac Backup drive .. The drive is deskstar from hitachi,it's 'soft modded' but it still hanged so i had buy another new xbox :mad:

that sucks that it broke, not sure if it'll work for you, but I found a program online that would erase the hard drive, and just put all 0s or 1s on it and go over it a few times so theres no info on it at all thats accessible anymore

Is the program Mac Compatible?

I don't have the Hdd password nor the Version of software for the mod ..

It had Eprom installed .. all this was done by a professional ..

I googled for the information on 'un-locking' xbox drive but no firm details on my problem :confused: :confused:

Edit:

Im in Disk Utility do i want HFS+ if i want bootable drive?

I just name the drive and erase the disk,that'll format it in HFS+?

I have had the same problem for 1 year NOW. I have a 80gb Locked HDD. I Have the unlock codes and everything inc apps. it just dont seem to work :S

If u find our how to unlock your HDD, please let me know (Windows/mac) TY

well just today i decided to put it back into the fw case and it showed up in Disk Utility..

i guess this iMac G3 has a dead fw port #2 so i plugged it into #1 port and it showed up in Disk Utility


(firewire port #2 is near the ethernet port on my iMac..) :o
