In September, I became the the owner of a Power Book G4. Unfortunately, in November, it fell off a table and the monitor is now broken.

Since this is not covered by warranty, I have to pay for the repair -- in my area I have been getting quotes of around $1,300 -- a lot of money.

Before I commit to spending this $$, I wonder if anyone in this forum can give me information on repair services -- or if this can be repaired at all.

Those quotes sound accurate.

I checked;

I'd check if any homeowners ins. covers it. I'd also press Apple a bit to see if you can get a better rate.

Ouch... unfortunately, $1300 does sound about right. Have Apple do it though, not a repair shop. It'll probably be quicker, and if there's anything else wrong, they'll repair that at the same time.

Sometimes people on Ebay sell LCD screens that you can buy for around 2-3 hundred. Good luck
