Was that surprising or what? I know many who have recently bought iBooks and powerBooks that are extremely pissed. I would be too if I didn't have problems that prevented me from buying before MWSF. But here the new laptops are, and here are their features:

256 MB PC2100 DDR SDRAM (266 MHz), upgradable to 640 MB
12.1" TFT 4:3 (1024 x 768)
NVIDIA GeForce4 420 Go w/ 32 MB DDR
40 GB Ultra ATA/100, upgradable to 60 GB

17.1" TFT 16:10 (1440 x 900)
NVIDIA GeForce4 440 Go w/ 64 MB DDR
60 GB Ultra ATA/100
Slot-loading superdrive

Gigabit (10/100/1000) Ethernet, 56K v.92 modem
Built in bluetooth and Airport Extreme (802.11g)
Ports: DVI, 2 USB 1.1, 1 PC Card Type II, 1 Firewire400, 1 Firewire800
1.0 x 15.4 x 10.2", 6.8 pounds

Other new features:
New shell. No longer titanium, now brushed, unpainted aluminium
New port location: located the sides, no port covers
Better Airport Reception: Antennae located on sides of the screen

I bought one in November and I am not pissed. :) But I am a switcher. I am used to prices falling and inventory changing quickly. I figure a $200 price drop is pretty insignificant compared to my Toshiba Laptop. It lost $900 in value in less than 2 months. But I still took the hit to switch to a Mac. I was tired of M$ running my life.

No PC Card slot on the 12"...can't call it Ti anymore either. I think the Airport card slot is designed differently as well. The 12" PowerBook is the iBook I've been waiting for.

Does anyone know what the dimensions for the 15"TiBook is?
Also, do you guys think it would be worth getting the 17"PowerBook instead of a Dual867 Powermac w/formac 17.4" display?

Apple's site has the specs...click the powerbook and then go to specs.

I'd say it is worth getting the new 17" TiBook instead of a desktop...but I don't like desktops. however, you cannot deny the fact that desktops are upgradable and laptops are not.

Yeah...if i got the powerbook i would get a 120Gb firewire hard drive.
I just need someting that I can do a lot of video editing on...and I am gone for about 2-3months out of the year so that is why i am thinking of the powerbook...but i don't know what to do!?!?!i will be buying the system in mid march or so........there are so many choices, and to make the right one will be even harder when they update the powermac and iMac.

This is the key right here.
